Van of the Week: 2010 GMC Explorer Mobility Van

This week Arbogast is highlighting the 2010 GMC Explorer Mobility Van all-wheel-drive.  The van mixes functionality with premium entertainment and comfort.  The Explorer X-SE package includes 20" chrome wheels, medallion series ground effects, a rear sunroof and a chrome mesh grill.

The driver and front passenger enjoy premium heated leather seats, a touch screen navigation system, and a Blaupunkt sound System.  Built into the navigation system is a rear view camera, enabling the driver too clearly see obstacles while in reverse.

What makes this van extremely unique is the top of the line Braun Vangater II wheelchair lift.  The Vangater's compact tri-fold platform, occupies minimal space inside the vehicle. You can open the doors and exit without deploying the lift.
The Vangater's platform offers 30" of usable width, and 43" of usable length. The lift is fully electric in operation, for both the fold/unfold and up/down cycles.

The rear passengers enjoy a state-of-the-art entertainment center with a 26" Sony Bravia HD LCD TV and surround sound.  Other features include wireless headphones, accent opera lighting, rear climate control, and a three section power sliding sofa.

For more information or a verbal description of this mobility van please call 1-866-975-3287.

Ask a Technician: GMC vs Chevy Conversion Van

Arbogast Van Depot was recently asked, "What's the difference between a GMC and Chevy Conversion Van?"  Quite simply than answer is, nothing.  Chevy and GMC conversion vans are almost exactly the same.  Slight differences can be seen in the front fascia as seen in the pictures below.  The chassis, engine, options, and price of the two GM brands are identical.

I just created this video to show custom tables we had made for this 2010 Explorer Conversion Van.  The team at Arbogast was trying to create a van enabling business people and children alike the ability to work on the run. The tables swivel and pivot to enable optimal positioning.  When not in use they can easy be removed and stowed in the rear.

This premium feature can be added to any conversion van.  If you can dream it, we can build it!  Arbogast Conversion Vans is ready to work with you to create the perfect van.  In the past we have installed custom karaoke machines, wet bars, limo interior, recliners? you name it we've done it.

Call one of our conversion van experts for more information or if you have a special request.

Many of our customers lately have asked if the captain's chairs in the second row can be removed.  The answer is absolutely, and without much effort.  Arbogast Conversion Vans has put together a video to demonstrate how to remove the seat.  One thing to note is the seat is somewhat heavy so I would suggest a helping hand.  If you have to do it by yourself don't stress it is possible, just don't throw your back out!

Watch the video and let me know if you have any questions.  If you have any other inquiries about your conversion van or class b van, just ask. Arbogast has created a Ask a Conversion Van Technician page and this blog to answer any lingering questions.

Conversion Van Gas Saving Ideas

One very common question asked in our service drive is how to save at the pump.  Arbogast Conversion Vans put together 10 gas saving tips to ease the strain on your wallet.  Check out our list, and send us some of your ideas.

1. Go the speed limit. Use cruise control.
Speed limits are calculated for maximum safety - they'll also reward you with maximum gas mileage. You can get up to 20 percent more mileage traveling 55 mph than 70 mph. Using cruise control provides additional gas savings.

2. Drive evenly. Avoid hard stops.

Quick starts burn gas while hard stops also cost you. Take your foot off the accelerator and coast a bit before stopping for a traffic light or a stop sign...
