Conversion Van: The More Economical Choice

In today's economy those out to purchase a new or used vehicle must be aware of every money-saving possibility available. For those looking for a larger vehicle, many look to SUV's, while not enough buyers look at, or are aware of the benefits of conversion vans.

Let's talk quickly about why people buy larger vehicles to begin with. Most commonly it is because they have larger families, or at least two children...

Purchase a Ticket, Save a Life. Miami County Relay for Life

It never hurts to give back, even if it means walking in a circle for 24 hours straight.
On May 7, cancer survivors and supporters alike will convene on the Miami County Fairgrounds in Troy for this year's Relay for Life.

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is a life-changing event which provides communities across not only America but the globe as well a chance to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones and fight back against the disease.

This year, Dave Arbogast, of Troy, in cooperation with The Caroline and Troy Fish and Game, will be heading up a Ride for Life Harley Raffle.  Tickets are $20 each. The lucky winner of the Ride for Life Raffle will receive a 2007 Harley Davidson XL883L Sportster Motorcycle with 6,381 miles.

For the event, teams of people camp out at a local high school, par, or in Miami County's case - a fairground - and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is also asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event.

Relay for Life began in 1985 when Dr. Gordy Klatt, a colorectal surgeon in Tacoma, Wash., ran and walked around a track for 24 hours to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Since that time, the relay has grown from a single man's passion to fight cancer into the world's largest movement to end the disease.

Every year, more than 3.5 million people in 5,000 communities in the United States, along with additional communities in 19 other countries, gather to take part in this global phenomenon and raise funds and awareness in an effort to save lives from cancer.

Dave Arbogast Buick GMC Donates $3000 to Young Life

Tuesday, May 18, 2010 Blake Arbogast with Dave Arbogast Buick, Pontiac, GMC Inc. presented Larry Butt, Director for Young Life of Miami County, with a check for $3,000! This donation was the product of the 2010 Arbogast Charity Drive. In April of this year, Arbogast announced on their Facebook page that they were taking nominations for local charities and organizations to be the recipient of the proceeds from their charity drive! People were asked to vote for their organization of choice by posting a comment on the wall, and at the end of the month, the votes would be tallied, and the winner announced. The result of the online poll produced Young Life of Miami County as the winner.

Young Life is an international interdenominational Christian outreach ministry that is having a profound impact on the lives of high school and junior high students all over the world.  Through personal relationships, weekly outreach club meetings, weekly Campaigner Bible studies, and our camping program, Young Life staff and volunteer leaders attempt to help kids understand the Christian faith and apply it to their everyday lives.

The charity drive structure was based upon the total number of units sold for the month of May at Dave Arbogast Buick GMC.  There were 230 units sold for May, which resulted in a $3,000 donation for the organization! The charity drive was an enormous success, and everyone at Arbogast was honored to be involved and to do their part in helping!
